Meet your stylist

Melanie Tolbert is the owner of Perfect 10 Salon hair boutique in Ellettsville, Indiana. She specializes in custom hair color and takes pride in knowing that she can decide on the very best color for each person. Rather than approaching hair as a technical skill, Melanie values artistry and creativity. "I specialize in giving you the best hair of your life," Melanie says. While Melanie has always had a passion for doing hair, it was not always her goal to own a salon.

Melanie started her career off in Modesto, California. She attended Adrian's Beauty College and received her cosmetology license in 2002. Before owning her business, Melanie worked at Great Clips and A+ Beauty.

In 2011, Melanie started her own business in honor of her mother, Colleen who had passed away. Melanie always did her mother's hair, and her mother had always encouraged her to start her own business.

Perfect 10 Salon was born as a basement business in Melanie's house. The inspiration for the name comes from a friend who had a nail salon called "Salon Ten." Since then, the business has grown, and Melanie was able to redesign the salon in her new home!

Melanie loves her clients and her salon and finds beauty in making others feel beautiful!
